About the Class

This camp offers a blend of cultural education and artistic expression for K-5th grade students. Campers will immerse themselves in the traditions, arts, and foods of different countries, fostering a greater understanding and appreciation of global diversity. We are a nut-free facility. No shellfish, fish, pork or nuts will be used for snacks. Daily Structure: Morning Sessions: Hands-On Cultural Learning and Cooking Midday: Picnic and Field Games at Littlejohn Park Afternoon Sessions: Artistic Expression and Social-Emotional Learning Day 1: Mesoamerican Cultural Exploration (Maya/Aztec) Cooking Activity: Make corn tortillas with a variety of toppings. Art & Craft: Create Aztec sun stones and Mayan hieroglyphic paintings. Day 2: Thai Cultural Journey Cooking Activity: Prepare Thai spring rolls with a sweet chili dipping sauce. Art & Craft: Craft traditional Thai elephant art. Day 3: Scandinavian Adventure Cooking Activity: Make Danish bread and toppings Art & Craft: Create Viking shields and traditional Swedish Dala horses. Day 4: Ethiopian Cultural Safari Cooking Activity: Prepare Ethiopian flatbread (Injera) with a mild lentil stew (Misir Wot). Art & Craft: Design Ethiopian cross necklaces Day 5: Polynesian Island Experience Cooking Activity: Make tropical fruit skewers and a refreshing coconut drink. Art & Craft: Create Polynesian Tiki masks and flower leis. Join us for a unique blend of cultural exploration, artistic creativity, and fun outdoor activities. This camp is a gateway to the world, offering a holistic experience that stimulates both intellectual growth and physical well-being! Details & Logistics: • Drop Off: 8:45–9:00am | Pick Up: 4:00pm | Extended Hours: 8:30am–5:30pm. • Lunch: Bring a labeled water bottle, one hearty snack, and a nut-free lunch. • Attire: Comfortable, movement-friendly clothing. Note: We’re a "no-shoes" facility, we recommend trampoline socks. • Belongings: Leave toys and personal items at home or in the lobby cubbies. Camp Cancellation Policy: We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both our campers and our organization. Transfer Option: Contact us to transfer your camp spot to another student at any time for a $25 transfer fee. 45 Days or More Before Camp Start Date: We provide a refund, less a $50 cancellation fee and a 3% payment processing fee. Less Than 45 Days Before Camp Start Date: No refunds will be issued.
